For years, Google’s camera app has been exclusive to Pixel devices, and it is still the same, but the company has made a few changes to reflect that fact. The Google Camera app has now been renamed and is called “Pixel Camera” on the Play Store. Additionally, the brand changes the description of the app, and more. Here are the details about the Pixel Camera…
Pixel Camera is now available on Play Store for Pixel devices only
A month ago, Google launched its latest Pixel devices, and now the company has made some changes to its exclusive apps for Pixel smartphones. The tech giant has also updated the app’s description to make the features clear. We know that the brand doesn’t bring any new features, but it might be preparing to announce new camera features.
In the earlier description, Google said, “Never miss a moment with Google Camera, and take fantastic pictures and videos using features such as Portrait, Night Sight, and the video stabilization modes.” However, the new description includes, “Never miss a moment with the fully redesigned Pixel Camera, and take fantastic photos and videos using features like Portrait, Night Sight, Time Lapse, and Cinematic Blur.”
If you would like to use the app on your Pixel smartphone or tablet, Google explains, “The latest version of Pixel Camera only works on Pixel devices running Android 14 and above. The latest version of Pixel Camera for Wear OS only works on Wear OS 3 (and above) devices connected to Pixel phones. Some features are not available on all devices.”
The Pixel Camera app currently comes in two versions. Version 9.0 is available for devices like the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 7 Pro, while the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have the slightly updated version, v9.1.
